Brian Scullin

Chairman

Brian has more than 20 years of experience in the funds management industry in both Australia and Asia. Following a career in the Australian federal government and politics, Brian was appointed Executive Director of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia in 1987. In 1993 he joined Bankers Trust, holding a number of senior positions including President of Japan Bankers Trust. Brian was then appointed Chief Executive Officer – Asia/Pacific for Deutsche Asset Management in 1999. He retired from that full-time position in 2002 and remained a non-executive director until June 2007.

Brian has held many industry positions including Vice Chair of the Financial Services Council (then known as IFSA), a part-time member of the Australian federal government’s Financial Reporting Council and a panel member of the Financial Industry Complaints Service. Brian was a Director of BT Investment Management Limited from 2007 to 2013 and Spark Infrastructure from 2011 to 2016. He was appointed Chair of FuneralVest P/L and President of the Retirement Benefits Funds of Tasmania (and its associated companies) in 2013 and Presiding Chair of the Tasmanian Development Board in 2014.

Brian was appointed as the Chair of the HMPL Board in July 2016.

Andrew Day

Chief Executive

Andrew joined Hastings as Chief Executive in October 2011. As an experienced Chief Executive in both domestic and international markets, Andrew has a strong track record in leading complex businesses across diverse industries, locations and stages of development. He is responsible for the strategic direction and growth of Hastings and is a Director of the Hastings Management Pty Ltd Board. Andrew is also an advisory board member of Infrastructure Partnership Australia.

Prior to joining Hastings, Andrew was Chief Executive of investment company Eircom Holdings Ltd where he managed the Irish telecommunications and Israeli directories businesses. Andrew’s previous roles included Chief Executive and Chairman of Truvo, a European-based private equity owned company with a complex portfolio of companies. Prior to that Andrew was the Chief Executive of Sensis, Australia’s largest advertising and search business. Andrew has also held various senior roles at Telstra Corporation including Managing Director, Commercial and Consumer Sales.  Andrew has Bachelor degrees in Engineering and Science with dual Honours and a Masters of Engineering Science from the University of Adelaide.

Philip Coffey

Director

Philip was appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the Westpac Group in April 2014 with responsibility for relationships with key stakeholders including industry groups, regulators, customers and government. He is also responsible for Westpac’s strategy, mergers and acquisitions function. Prior to this appointment, Philip held the role of Chief Financial Officer of Westpac from December 2005, and prior to that he was Group Executive, Westpac Institutional Bank, having been appointed to that position in 2002. He first joined Westpac in 1996 as Head of Foreign Exchange.

Philip has extensive experience in financial markets, funds management and finance. He began his career at the Reserve Bank of Australia before moving to Citicorp and AIDC Limited. He has also held roles in the United Kingdom and New Zealand. In April 2014, he was appointed the inaugural Chairman of the Westpac Bicentennial Foundation, a $100 million scholarship fund with an exclusive focus on Australian education and leadership.

Philip has an honours degree in Economics from the University of Adelaide and has completed the Stanford University Executive Program.

Philip was appointed as a Director of the HMPL Board in July 2016.

Justine Hickey

Director

Justine is an independent non-executive director with over 20 years’ experience in investments, superannuation and corporate governance. She chairs the board of fund manager, DNR Capital and is a director of the Rio Tinto Staff Super Fund. Previously she was a director of the GPT Metro Office Fund, Australian Ethical Investment Ltd, Flagship Investments Ltd and an expert member of Sunsuper’s Investment Committee. Justine takes an active interest in the not for profit sector and is a director of RSPCA QLD and chair of YET Foundation.

In previous executive roles, Justine was Manager, Equities at Suncorp Investment Management in Brisbane and prior to that a Portfolio Manager at Flemings Investment Management (now JP Morgan Chase) in London.
 
Justine has a Bachelor of Commerce from University of Queensland. She is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Fellow of FinSIA (Financial Services Institute of Australasia) and an Associate of the CFA Institute. She is also a member of the Responsible Investment Association of Australasia (RIAA).
 
Justine was appointed as a Director of the HMPL Board in February 2017.

Terry Winder

Director

Terry Winder has 30 years of experience in Australian and international financial markets and is the Chief Financial Officer of Westpac’s Institutional Bank, having joined the Westpac Group in 2010.

Prior to joining Westpac, Terry was the International Treasurer for Merrill Lynch and lived and worked in London and Tokyo as well as Sydney. Prior to Merrill Lynch, he worked with UBS and Bankers Trust Australia. Terry has prior Board experience with Merrill Lynch International and Merrill Lynch International Bank Limited (Ireland).

Terry holds a Bachelor of Financial Administration from the University of New England, a Diploma with the Australian Securities Institute and is a Fellow of CPA Australia.

Terry was appointed as a Director of the HMPL Board in July 2016.
